I came across this vdeo of the tanker that ran aground on Front Street in Staten Island due to Hurricane Sandy. This is worth a look. Staten Island has taken some devstating damage from Hurricane Sandy. This video is just one example. Small boats of all kinds have been hurled onto the shoreline of Staten Island The storm surge left many homes damaged and washed away. A few people have been killed  and more have been reported missing, as of the writing of this article. Power is still down across much of staten Island. Many people took much less precautions for Sandy because of previous hype from other storms. Locals have taken weather reporting with a grain of salt until now. This hurricane will remain in our memories as a seriously damaging storm.
